The Way to Heaven.

Our natural tendency is to reflect a longing for intimacy and connection. The world offers all kinds of temporary substitutes that give us pleasure and false intimacy. We can waste lots of time and energy pursuing things like money, power, and pleasure, but we will eventually realize that none of these things will fulfill the deep longing of the heart. There is a reason for this: only one thing will satisfy our desire for connection, and that is God. He made us with a built-in need to connect with Himself. When we decide to seek Him, only then will we discover true satisfaction and peace.

Our sins have separated us from God. He is the true source of love and life, and thankfully He has provided a way for us to be forgiven of our sins so that we can be reconciled to Him. He provided the perfect payment through His Son Jesus Christ for the wrong choices we have made. Jesus surrendered His life as the payment that God required for our sin to be forgiven. Here is what we must believe to inherit eternal life:

1.     Believe that you are a sinner.

--        'For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God' (Romans 3:23).

--        'There is not a just man upon the earth, that sins not' (Ecclesiastes 7:20).

2.     Believe that your sins must be punished.

--        'The wages of sin is death.' (Romans 6:23).

--        'The soul that sins, it shall die' (Ezekiel 18:20).

3.     Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins.

--        'Christ died for us' (Romans 5:8).

4.     Believe that only Jesus Christ can forgive your sins, and receive Him into your life as your personal Savior.

--        'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have eternal life'
(John 3:16).

--        "Dear Lord.  I realize that I am a sinner.  I know that my sins put You on the cross and that I cannot save
myself.  Please forgive me. I accept Your finished work.  Do for me what I cannot do for myself.  Come
into my life and be my Lord & Savior."
